Getting Started
I was born in Manassas, Virginia in 1984 and decided to try glass blowing in about 2002 during that stage between high school and college when you don’t really know what you want to do with your life. I chose to pursue the art of glass blowing because I was always really into art, especially of the sculptural variety. Fortunately, about one year later, I met someone at a music festival that was willing to teach. I began following him, learning and enhancing my glassblowing abilities for about another year. Finally, in 2004, I saved up enough money for my own torch and started my new hobby.
Visions Become Reality
As a full time artist, I seek to balance form and function, and aesthetics with utility. I primarily focus on designing custom work for people to use me as a conduit to see their artistic visions come to life. However, I do possess many of my own ideas that I try to find time to create and show the world. The trick for me has been in balancing these two aspects of my work, which is still a work in progress.
